Westchester Chess Club
We are a well-established yet growing chess club whose prime purpose is to serve lower Westchester County with fun times, competitive tournaments, and lectures by some of the area's best instructors.
***Please note: due to the corona virus precautions, the chess club meetings are suspended for the time being. For now, the club is operating online on Lichess. We have two one-night tournaments per week - a Rapid Swiss (10+5) on Mondays, and a Blitz Arena (5+0) on Thursdays. In addition, there is a monthly Swiss, one game per week at 30+5, open to club members by registration by email to Alan Kuras - firstname.lastname@example.org. For the monthly Swiss, you need to be a member of the USCF.
The next tournament is the yearly Club Championship - 5 rounds, 60+10, open to online or regular club members. Please contact Alan Kuras if you are interested.
For more information on the club, please contact us.
Please check this website for other news about reopening. In the meantime, please use precautions, social distance and wear a mask!
Special note on Trinity Lutheran Church occupancy rules:
WCC members are only permitted in the "Upper Room" on the second floor. Any other rooms, except bathrooms and the storage room where we keep chess sets, are not to be used by our members. The players are requested not to use the small Children's Bible Room across the corridor for any reason. *** The Club hours are 7:30 to 10:50 PM. We are allowed to stay 5 or 10 minutes longer to conclude games tournament games, but this practice should be avoided. *** Eating and drinking, except bottled water, is not allowed on the premises. At closing time, the Upper Room should be left clean, with the chairs and table centerpieces in place.
