Westchester Chess Club
We are a well-established yet growing chess club whose prime purpose is to serve lower Westchester County with fun times, competitive tournaments, and lectures by some of the area's best instructors.
The club meets Thursday nights only from 7:30 to 10:30, mostly runs 3 - 6 week tournaments, generally one round per night. Registration is not automatic - players must inform the TD if they wish to participate in a particular tournament. We also run one-night tournaments on occasion. You must be a member of the USCF to participate in rated tournaments (join at uschess.org). Membership in the WCC is open to all players of any age and rating, and new members are welcome throughout the year. Please check the FAQ and schedule pages for more information and to get on the mailing list.
***Please note: The club is now open for OTB play for fully vaccinated individuals. We have shortened the meeting time to end by 10:30 PM. Mask are not mandatory at this time but this is subject to change.
For more information about the club, please check the FAQ page or contact us.
Special note on Trinity Lutheran Church occupancy rules:
WCC members are only permitted in the "Upper Room" on the second floor. Any other rooms, except bathrooms and the storage room where we keep chess sets, are not to be used by our members. Club hours are Thursdays 7:30 to 10:30 PM. No food or drink, except bottled water, is permitted. At closing time, the Upper Room should be left clean, with the chairs and table centerpieces in place.
